Australian Rules Football icon, Wayne Carey, is publicly criticizing Crown Casino in Perth after being ejected for allegedly having a white substance.
Last week, Carey was supposedly observed dropping a small bag holding the powder. The AFL great refutes claims that it was an illicit drug.
The 51-year-old asserts it was actually prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine, and that he presented it to employees when the bag slipped out.
“To be unambiguous, nothing unlawful transpired,” Carey stated. “I’m dissatisfied with Crown’s management of the situation; they had ample chance and should have contacted law enforcement. If their allegations were factual, they would have summoned the police.”
Crown’s current CEO, CiarĂ¡n Carruthers, contradicted Carey’s narrative. He informed local news sources that Carey’s recollection of the events doesn’t align with reports from Crown personnel.
“When our team members observe any issues with guests, irrespective of their identity, they proceed according to our training and guidelines,” Carruthers explained. “This is precisely what occurred in this case, and we requested the guest to depart.”
“My comprehension is that they were unaware of his identity initially. He was a customer purchasing chips, it slipped out as he was receiving change and placing it in his billfold.”
He abandoned his satchel at that location, and the subsequent events are entirely unknown to me. Kerry’s legal representatives are investigating whether their client experienced unjust treatment, and yesterday, local police commissioner Blanche stated that the gambling establishment should have promptly notified law enforcement about the occurrence.
